Let It Rain . . .

I was looking at our Congo pictures today when I came across this one. I took this picture as the rains made their way across Lake Kivu. What intrigued me about these rains was none of the fisherman came to shore, they waited out the storms. Its like they knew God would calm the seas.
One thing I really look forward to when we go back is the sound of the fisherman singing. The first morning in Bukavu I was woken up (at 4 am) to the sound of the fishermen singing hymns. They started at one end of the lake, then another group started at the other end of the lake and so on. Wonderful voices and beautiful harmony spread across the lake in the early morning hour. While I was standing on the balcony outside the house, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. What an awesome way to wake up . . . this was an alarm clock anyone could love.
Once in a while I remember the small things that happened when we were in Bukavu. It's the small things that get me excited about the possibility of going back.
