Hard To Imagine . . .

Last Saturday we were in Boissevain for Maddy's league ball tournament. The girls had a good run, only to fall short in the final. They won a silver medal which they are quite proud of.
It got me thinking . . . our children are so fortunate and blessed. All in all, they are safe and well taken care of. Our children have beds to sleep in and food to eat. Our girls have a three block walk to and from school . . .
What about the invisible children of Congo and Uganda? Children who walk to and from the city in the evening and the morning to keep safe and to avoid being abducted. Whether going back to the villages for work or school, these children have been stripped of their childhood.
My daughter won a silver medal, then went home to sleep in a bed after enjoying a warm meal. The children of Congo and Uganda have no choice . . . they do not have a comfortable place to sleep. Our girls understand what the children of Africa are going through, and like us, they want to help. I look forward to seeing our girls in Africa. I believe they will be a blessing to the hundreds of African children they will be in contact with on a daily basis. God has not only called Laura and I, but we believe He has called our children to Africa as well.
Pray for us as we continue to journey towards Africa. Pray that the Lord would connect us with a missionary couple who would take the time to mentor us. Last but not least, and most important, pray for the invisible children of Africa. Those who trek to and from safety every morning and evening. Pray the Lord's protection upon them as they journey . . .
